Lots of Latte

The way we drink coffee has changed in the last couple of decades. The advent of fancy coffee shops has now made coffee drinking cool. During our parents’ generation, coffee shops and diners were not as abundant as they are today. Teenagers have taken to drinking cappuccino, latte and fraps so they can be hang out all in these coffee shops. It’s all about the branding of coffee and coffee shops.

Twenty years ago, cappuccino wasn’t as a household name in the third world countries in Asia. Today Asian teenagers are usually seen meeting their friends in coffee shops for their iced frappes and cappuccinos. In the movie “You’ve Got Mail” Tom Hanks’ character even made a comment on how people would pay so much just to “personalize” their cappuccinos. Gourmet coffee has indeed become a phenomenon. So the next time you are asked for coffee, try and see if you can they’re up to some fancy cappuccino.
